ADMIRAL ARLEIGH BURKE MEMORIAL
Since the Admiral Arleigh Memorial was originally established, MOAA AABC has been involved in being a caretaker. The Memorial is in Boulder's Admiral Arleigh Burke Park. The Park is located in the Fraser Meadows neighborhood at the intersection of Mohawk and Pawnee Drives.
AABC-MOAA was instrumental in establishing the memorial which is located in the Park. AABC members assist in maintaining the grounds around the Memorial when needed.

COL BILL BOWER MEMORIAL
Boulder also has a park named after Doolittle Raider Col Bill Bower.
Col Bower was one of the B25 pilots who flew off the carrier USS Hornet early in World War II to bomb Tokyo.
He was a past president of AABC and served the Boulder community in many ways.
The Boulder community named the park, established in 2014, for Bill Bower.
They wanted to honor him as a WWII military hero and an active community leader who lived in the upper Table Mesa neighborhood for many years.
Initial park plans included an interpretive display to explain Bill's accomplishments, but the project was never built because of a lack of funds.
Thanks to generous donors, the Boulder community is excited to bring this project to life!.
MOAA AABC has established a separate 501C3 non-profit that will allow donations to Bower Memorial project and other future project to be eligible as a tax deduction.

Immediately
after our May 14, 2011 Business Meeting, Tom Hodgson, David Lovering, Fred
McFarland (work party leader) and Ralph Burke along with several men from
the CU Enlisted To Officer program, turned to with a will and spruced up the
Admiral Arleigh Burke Memorial. They planted flowers, scrubbed the plaques
and painted the anchor. All hands agreed, "Job well done" or in
Navy parlance, "Bravo Zulu".
