Speaker:
Lt. Col. Robert K. Brown, USAR (Ret.) Topic: I Am "Soldier of Fortune": Dancing with Devils Col Brown will give
us a personal view into his new book that explores his career in the
US military and beyond, as a soldier, adventurer and investigative journalist.
Central to that story is how he grew Soldier of Fortune Magazine from
the ground up, from its modest start in 1975 to where it has achieved
a very substantial media presence with over 1 million copies sold to
date. The book recounts Brown's experiences in a host of military conflicts,
including Cuba, Vietnam, Rhodesia, Latin America and Afghanistan. An
excellent review of the book by the Washington Times is available at:
Col Brown has close ties to Boulder. He was a CU student here in the 1950s and a member of the Army ROTC. On returning from Vietnam he made Boulder his home and also the home of SOF magazine. Take some time to browse the SOF website at: http://www.sofmag.com/ Following his presentation,
Col Brown will be available to sign copies of his book. |
